Known as Tilia Europea, the Linden tree can grow 50-80 feet tall! The tree is characterized by a bounty of small fragrant flowers. As a time-tested herbal remedy, Europeans use the delicate yellow flowers to make a deliciously fragrant tea. It's rich in flavonoids and amino acids. In a study at the University of Michigan it was reported that the flavonoids and glycosides were shown to reduce anxiety in limited clinical trials. In Germany Linden has been approved for the treatment of colds and coughs. It's so soothing with a touch of local honey.

Growing up we had a huge linden tree in the front yard. Every year Dad would pick the leaves and flowers and Grandma would make tea from them. This tea is so calming and a great late evening drink. Tastes just like I remember.
